Light up the sky in this fireworks sim

Pyroworks is a free simulator that lets you light up fireworks without smoke or risks of injury. In this casual game from s1nn3r, you get to set up different kinds, colors, and sizes of fireworks to create your own pyrotechnic display. Of course, as a first-person perspective game, you also get to look up at the night sky and see your work come to life.

With its setup, Pyroworks is best explained as a non-VR alternative for Fireworks Desert Blast and a more immersive experience than FWSim. It includes your character as well as a virtual city as the setting.

From individual rockets to entire pyrotechnics

From its overall design, Pyroworks gives you unprecedented freedom in what fireworks to use and where to light them up. It has a small-scale city setting for the game and has virtually no law enforcement or vehicles to get in your way. A major highway intersection sounds like a good place to create a stockpile of these fireworks. For best results, make sure that the buildings won’t be blocking your view.

The physics in the fireworks are great and lifelike, from shooting from their canisters to spreading bright across the sky. However, the rest of the elements were just added as an afterthought. Viewing the game from a third-person perspective or watching other players “carry” the fireworks make it look glitchy, as the character models don’t look like carrying stuff–fireworks just float in front of them.

For the sounds, the developers understood how to make them contribute to the overall immersive experience. It uses positional audio to capture the accurate auditory feel. This means that the farther you are from the fireworks, the softer the sound will be. Additionally, there’s not a lot of background music, which lets you appreciate the contrast between a silent night and a loud and lively one.

Mess around and light them up

Pyroworks is a great casual game, whether it’s New Year’s Eve or the Fourth of July. Choose your fireworks, set them up wherever you want, and light them up. You get to enjoy massive setups and you can set them up anywhere in the small town where the game is set. It has great graphics, is supported by good audio choices, and has a wide choice of fireworks.
